Everything you need to know about the 020 gearbox.

Missus has recently bought a Mk3 Gti. Clutch was knackered apparently so I removed the box and went out and bought a new clutch (the clutch WAS knackered!).

Anyways, fired it all back together and there was still issues with the clutch!

I had opened the gearbox for a look and noticed all the cogs were beautiful which is rare (normally teeth missing and a bent reverse gear!).

Anyway... I couldn't understand what was happening so I started searching the web.

I'm now off out to buy a new thrust bearing (should've done that one anyway!) and the little clutch release arm finger:

as mine is broke.......

If your clutch is down towards the floor in an unusual way then I recommend checking this out before removing the gearbox. Guide on how to do it is in there.......
