If your syncro only has 239mm brakes at the moment you will need to get some late 16V hubs first.
I assume you mean the Cupra 'R' which has the Brembo 4 pots? It will all bolt straight on, but you need atleast 16" wheels. So wheel styles dont fit very well over the Brembo callipers, and you may need to use a spacer behind the wheels.
On a normal Cupra they just have the 280mm brakes the same as a G60, just painted red.

My mates got brembo's on his - u'll most definately require spacers for most wheels.

When was the later spec disks for the mk2 done and if i have the early one would i need to upgrade to later spec hubs i have mk2 16v 88 - 89 and the kit thats been mentioned wuld i need to get a spacer for the caliper carrier is this the same thing have i answered my own questions am i stupid. lol. But if i get what your saying i could have 300mm+ brembo 4 pots for dirt cheap money (well considering the upgrade kit from demons is nearly a GRAND) and would these fit behind 17's no probs? cause i know you mentioned 16's does this mean they'll catch on the spokes or the inner rim if you can picture what i mean.

They changed at '89, if you have the early 239mm brakes you need new hubs, but if you have the later 256mm brakes you have the right hubs allready.
The only problems is with it catching the back of the spokes on some wheels, so if you do have problems you will just have to fit a spacer behind the wheels.

Is it easy to change the hubs over, do I need to change anything else when I do it (obviously I'd change the bearings) but anything like driveshafts etc. Also does anyone know anywhere that sells the hubs new? or would it be scrappy time, and if this is so does anyone know where I can get them refurb'd cause I dont wanna pay VW prices.
I know I'm starting to sound like a pain in the arse now.

It is allways a good idea to change the wheel bearings, and bottom ball joints whilst the hubs are off the car, to save taking it all off again in the near future.
It is also simplest to undo the ball joint off the wishbone, rather than trying to get the ball joint out of the hub. But you need to mark the position of the ball joint on the wishbone, so you get it back in the right place otherwise you will mess up the camber, aswell as driveshaft length.
You dont need to change driveshafts or anything like that, the other hubs will go straight on.
If you are going to do it yourself you will need a few descent tools, as you need to undo the hub nut on the end of the driveshaft, and its done upto about 170 lbf ft, so you will really need a breaker bar, as you will possibly strip the teeth out of a ratchet with a bit of tubing on it.
Usually takes my full weight standing on the end of 2ft breaker bar to get it undone, might just be because i'm a skinny git!
You also need a ball joint splitter to get the track rod ends off the hubs.

I doubt it!
You will get 15" wheels over the normal Cupra brakes, which are basically just 280mm G60 brakes painted red.
I dont think they will go over the Cupra R Brembos, as they are huge. _________________ VW Parts |

My 15" MO's fit over my 305mm Brembos but you have to go for 4 x 100 15" x 7" ET20. You will have to put the wheel weights away from the inside edge of the rim because the caliper is that close.

Depending on what suspension you are running, you will probably have to go for G60 arches to clear the tyres. _________________

| yup. as said, 15" MO's will fit. You need 38mm from the hub to the rear of the spoke to clear the caliper. I have to run 23mm spacers to get the clearance with my 18" Lensos. |
